The air driven liquid pump, as known as air driven hydraulic pump or high pressure pump, is driven by compressed air. If your normally working air driven liquid pump suddenly fails, and the specific symptoms are that the pistons inside the pump cannot reciprocate, and the air driven pump cannot output high-pressure hydraulic flow any longer. In this case, it can be basically judged that the shuttle valve of the air driven pump is blocked even damaged, causing the air driven hydraulic pump to fail to work. The compressed air output by the air compressor contains tiny dust and impurities. During the long-term use of the air driven pump, the dust and impurities enter the pump and adhere on the shuttle valve with the compressed air, which block the shuttle valve to cause the shuttle valve to fail to reverse normally.

Here is how to fix it. First of all, take out the shuttle valve core from air driven pump. There are multiple seal rings on the shuttle valve, check whether the seal rings are worn. If the seal rings have no abnormal wear, just need to clean dust off. If there is abnormal wear, replace new seal rings. There are many holes on the shuttle valve body. Use the air gun to clean the shuttle valve thoroughly. Finally, apply grease to the shuttle valve and then install it back to the pump. In this way, the air driven liquid pump will resume working.
In order to extend the service life of your air driven pump, it is recommended to add an air filter on your air supply line, which can effectively filter the debris and moisture in compressed air supply.
