As well known, the burst pressure testing is a destructive test. The burst pressure tester is a high pressure test machine, which is used to detect the pressure resistance limit of various pressure components. It injects the test medium into the pressure component, and continuously pressurizes the medium until the pressure component cracks. The pressure that causes the pressure component to crack is the burst pressure, which is the maximum pressure that the pressure component can withstand.

Which Product Requires Burst Pressure Test
Normally, all kinds of pressure components, pressure vessels and pipelines need to undergo pressure burst test to verify whether the material strength of the product is qualified. Common products include: hydraulic hoses, rubber hoses, fire hoses, automobile brake pipes, powertrain pipes, water cooling plates, valves, instrument housings, joints, etc.
How to Choose a Suitable Burst Test Machine
According to the different operation modes, the burst test machine can be divided into manual control and automatic control. The automatic pressure burst tester has the benefits of higher test accuracy and more convenient operation, which is suitable for users with sufficient budget. If your budget is limited, you could choose the manual pressure burst tester.
According to the different test media, the burst pressure test machine is subdivided into hydraulic burst tester and gas pressure burst tester. Since the gas pressure impact is much greater than hydraulic pressure impact, it is risky to use intermediate or high pressure gas for burst pressure testing. However, there is almost no danger in hydraulic burst testing, so the hydraulic pressure burst test bench is more suitable for most users and test scenarios. If your product is very special and you have to use intermediate or high pressure gas as the medium for the burst pressure test, it is recommended to set up a separating wall at the test site to ensure personnel safety.
Burst Pressure Tester Operating Steps
We supply hydraulic burst test bench and pneumatic burst test bench, with manual and automatic modes available. In order to ensure that splashes that may appear during testing will not injure the staff, all of our burst pressure machines are equipped with the protective test chamber. Below we will use the computer-controlled automatic hydraulic burst tester as an example to explain how to execute a burst pressure testing.

- First of all, place the object to be tested in the test chamber, and connect it to the high-pressure outlet, then close the test chamber door.
- Bleed air. There is some air left inside the testing object and hydraulic circuit of the test machine, which will affect the accuracy of the test results. Therefore, we need to activate the built-in electric pump to pre-fill water into the testing object. Observe the Air bubble viewer, when air bubbles disappear completely, it means bleed air completion, so we can turn off the electric pump now.
- Enter the built-in test program, select “burst test mode” and then click the start test button. The machine starts to pressurize the testing object.
- When the testing object cracks, the machine automatically stops and alarms on, and records the burst pressure value.
The hydrostatic burst pressure test machine developed by our company is a multifunctional high-pressure testing equipment, which can not only perform burst pressure test, but also carry out hydrostatic pressure test and leak test.
