Gas Booster Cooling Methods

How to Cool High-Pressure Compressed Gas During Compression

How does the gas booster dissipate heat during gas compression? Compared with liquids, the gas is easier to be compressed. When gas booster is compressing gas, the gas’ temperature will rise gradually. Therefore, it is necessary to equip cooling system on gas booster to enhance heat dissipation.

1. Adopt stainless steel to manufacture gas booster to speed up heat dissipation. Stainless steel has the advantages of corrosion resistance, high pressure resistance and fast heat dissipation. We adopt stainless steel to manufacture the high-pressure cylinder body of gas booster, so it can quickly transmit the heat accumulated in the high-pressure cylinder due to compressed gas to the atmosphere.

2. Equipped with cooling fins on gas booster to accelerate heat dissipation. Set up an isolation section between Air driving cylinder and High-pressure cylinder and install cooling fins, which can not only effectively isolate the heat from High-pressure cylinder to Driving cylinder, but also quickly dissipate heat to atmosphere.

3. Equip the booster pump with cooling jacket for self-cooling. The cooling chamber is around the high pressure cylinder, so it is called cooling jacket. The low temperature & low pressure exhaust air in the driving cylinder enters the cooling chamber and discharges via muffler. Meanwhile, the heat of the high-pressure chamber is taken away and discharged to the outside by exhaust air, thus cooling the high pressure cylinder.

4. Add the intercooler to absorb and take away gas booster’s heat. The low temperature & low pressure exhaust air from Driving cylinder flows through the intercooler. Meanwhile, it will absorb and take away the heat of compressed gas in the tubing and discharge it to the atmosphere via muffler, thus cooling the gas booster.

5. Install an external high-pressure gas cooler to further cool the compressed gas. It works as following. The high-temperature compressed gas and the low-temperature exhaust air discharged by the gas booster flow through the gas cooler at the same time. So the exhaust air can quickly absorb the heat of the high-pressure compressed gas, and then release the heat to the atmosphere.
