The breather valve tester is an automatic pressure vacuum relief valve tester, abbreviated as PVRV tester. It is designed to test and calibrate the breather valve and hydraulic safety valve on petroleum storage tanks or tank truckers.
As is well known, breather valve, also known as a pressure vacuum relief valve, is a special safety device installed on the top of petroleum storage tank or tank trucker, usually used in conjunction with a flame arrester. The breather valve can both exhaust and inhale, and its function is to balance the pressure inside the storage tank. When the pressure inside the storage tank is too high, the breather valve will release steam to the outside. When the medium inside the storage tank is drawn out, external air will enter the storage tank through the breather valve.
According to API2000 and IOS28300 standards, breather valve testing contains: pressure test, vacuum test, sealing test and flow test.
The breather valve pressure test and vacuum test is to verify whether the breather valve opening pressure meets the setting pressure. The breather valve flow test, as known as ventilation test, is to detect the breather valve leakage, sealing property and pressure differential.
The breather valve sealing test aims to verify the sealing performance of the breather valve under conditions when the opening pressure is not reached. The breather valve flow test is an additional test, it is to assess the ventilation capacity of a breather valve by measuring the air volume passing through it per unit time under a specified pressure differential, so as to ensure the breather valve can meet the storage tank pressure release requirements under extreme conditions.
The breather valve test bench can simulate a breather valve working environment to perform pressure test, vacuum test and sealing test on your breather valve. First of all, place your breather valve on the test station, and activate the pneumatic clamp to fix the breather valve. Then input breather valve information and test parameters in computer. Under the automatic control of computer, the machine will sequentially perform breather valve pressure test, vacuum test and sealing test. The computer will accurately detect breather valve’s opening pressure and leakage rate, then automatically determine test results and generate test reports.

The breather valve flow test, also known as breather valve ventilation capacity test, is an extra test. It aims to assess the ventilation capacity of a breather valve by measuring the air volume passing through it per unit time under a specified pressure differential, so as to ensure the breather valve can meet the storage tank pressure release requirements under extreme conditions. If you want to perform comprehensive testing on your breather valve, including PVRV pressure test and vacuum test, PVRV sealing test, and PVRV flow test, please choose this full version machine, which is also applicable to hydraulic safety valves.
