The gas cylinder tightness leak tester is used to check the sealing property of gas cylinders to ensure the safety of gas cylinders in daily use. Newly manufactured gas cylinders and gas cylinders that have been used for a period of time may have the following problems. The cylinder body may have blow holes due to material defects or welding defects. Improper installation of the cylinder valve may result in poor sealing. Gas cylinders develop tiny cracks due to metal fatigue after long-term use…… All of the above problems endanger the safety of the gas cylinder. Under normal pressure, the above problems can be difficult to detect visually. The gas cylinder tightness leak test machine simulates the working environment of the gas cylinder by injecting a certain pressure of gas into the gas cylinder, and then uses the bubbling method to determine whether the gas cylinder is leaking and find the leak point. The gas cylinder leak test machine is applicable to diverse gas cylinders including fire extinguishers, oxygen cylinders, breathing cylinders, CNG cylinders and more.

The gas cylinder tightness leak tester consists of two parts: Gas booster console and Leak testing water tank. The gas booster can pressurize test medium gas to your required pressure and then fill it in gas cylinder to be tested. And the leak testing water tank is used for leak detection of gas cylinders by bubbling method.

The gas cylinder tightness leak test machine can efficiently check gas cylinder leak and quickly find the leakage point of the gas cylinder. The operation steps of the machine are as follows.
1.Which test medium is used for gas cylinder leakage testing?
Both liquid and gas can be used as the test medium in gas cylinder tightness leak testing. However, the diffusivity of gas is much stronger than that of liquids. Therefore, air or nitrogen is usually used as the test medium for cylinder leak test.
2. How high pressure of testing gas do I need to fill into the gas cylinder?
The gas cylinder air tightness test is to simulate the working environment of the gas cylinder. Therefore, the pressure of the test gas filled into the gas cylinder is equal to the nominal working pressure of the gas cylinder. Let us take the most common 40L compressed gas cylinder as an example, its nominal working pressure is generally 15MPa. So you need to fill nitrogen or air of 150MPa into the gas cylinder before leak testing.
3.Is it necessary to perform a leak testing after replacing the cylinder valve?
Yes. After you replace the cylinder valve, in order to ensure that the new cylinder valve is properly installed on the gas cylinder, you need to check the gas cylinder tightness before using it.
