The gas cylinder hydraulic burst pressure tester is a low-cost and manual gas cylinder hydrostatic pressure test machine. And it can carry out pressure proof test and pressure burst test on gas cylinders, thereby verifying the structural integrity and tightness of the gas cylinder.
There is an electric water pump and air powered hydraulic pump built in the gas cylinder pressure tester. The electric water pump can exhaust air quickly from hydraulic test circuit by pre-filling taped water circularly, thereby eliminating test results deviation. And the hydraulic pump can generate and output hydraulic pressure for the gas cylinder hydro test.

The Difference Between Pressure Proof Test and Burst Test for Gas Cylinders

The cylinder pressure proof test is to inject water at the required pressure into the gas cylinder, and maintain the pressure for some time. ( generally the test pressure is 1.5 times the nominal working pressure of the gas cylinder). Meanwhile, observe whether the gas cylinder has pressure drop, leakage, deformation or rupture, so as to check whether the structural strength of the gas cylinder meets the design requirements.
As for the gas cylinder pressure blasting test or burst test, it is usually carried out after the pressure test. And it is to detect the ultimate pressure that the gas cylinder can withstand. Specifically, gas cylinder burst pressure test is to inject higher pressure water into the gas cylinder constantly until it ruptures. At the moment, the pressure that causes the gas cylinder to rupture is the burst pressure of the gas cylinder.

In short, the purpose of the gas cylinder pressure poof test is to check the structural integrity and tightness of the gas cylinder, which is a non-destructive test. While the purpose of the gas cylinder pressure burst test is to detect the ultimate pressure that the gas cylinder can withstand, which is a destructive test.
