Air Driven Pump Operating Principle

The air driven hydraulic pump is the air powered hydraulic pressure booster. It utilizes the low air pressure on the large piston to generate the high hydraulic pressure on the small piston to achieve liquid pressurization. Specifically, air operated pump has two sections: air drive cylinder with a large piston inside and high-pressure cylinder with a small piston inside, and the two pistons are connected by a shaft. When compressed air drives the large piston to reciprocate, the small piston reciprocates synchronously, so the liquid pressure becomes higher and higher in high-pressure cylinder.
How to Operate an Air Driven Pump
The discharge pressure of an air driven hydraulic pump is equal to the drive air pressure multiplied by the boost ratio. The boost ration is fixed, which is actually the area ratio of the large and small pistons of the pump. So the air driven pump discharge pressure is directly proportional to the drive air pressure. Thereby, the air driven pump discharge pressure can be easily adjusted and preset if adjust the drive air pressure. Just need add an air regulator and a pressure gauge to the air operated pump, a basic liquid booster circuit or hydraulic circuit is ready.

LBM Series Mini Hydraulic Pump
It is single acting air operated hydraulic pump with compact size and low air consumption, thus suitable for hydraulic test, bolt tensioning. And you can drive the pump by hand if no shop air on site.
LBS Series Hydraulic Test Pump
This is single-acting pneumatic pump with features of simple structure and pressure up to 640MPa. Therefore, it is more suitable for hydrostatic pressure test and burst pressure test.
LBD Series Hydraulic Power Pump
LBD series is double acting pump with high flow and little pulsation. At a given pressure, LBD series has twice flow rate of LBS series. Therefore, it is suitable for hydro test, hydraulic power unit and chemical injection.
LBW Series High Flow Hydraulic Pump

LBW series pump is equipped with two air drive pistons based on LBD series pump. So its output flow is 1.6 times of LBD series at the same pressure, thus suitable for applications with high flow requirements.
