Gas Booster Pump Operating Principle

The gas booster, as known as high-pressure gas pump, is gas pressure intensifier. It uses compressed air as power to push the large piston in driving cylinder to drive the small piston in high-pressure cylinder to reciprocate, so as to suction low-pressure gas, compress gas and discharge high-pressure gas. Specifically, gas pump has two sections: driving cylinder with a large piston inside and high-pressure cylinder with a small piston inside, and the two pistons are connected by a shaft. When shop air drives the large piston to reciprocate, the small piston also reciprocates synchronously, so the gas pressure gets higher and higher in the high-pressure cylinder due to compression.

How to Operate Gas Pressure Booster

The discharge pressure of a gas booster pump is equal to the drive air pressure multiplied by the boost ratio. The boost ratio is fixed, which is actually the area ratio of the large and small pistons of the gas pressure booster. So the gas booster pump discharge pressure is directly proportional to the drive air pressure. Therefore, the gas booster discharge pressure can be adjusted and preset easily if adjust the drive air pressure. Just add an air regulator and pressure gauges to the gas pressure pump, a basic gas booster system or gas transfer system is established.

Some users simply want to boost gas to a low pressure. We have two special models suitable for this special condition. GBS01 can boost gas from 0 bar(g) to max 8bar, while GBS02 can pressurize gas from 0 bar(g) to max 20bar.

GBD Series Gas Filling Pump

GBD series is double acting gas booster with features of high flow and small pressure pulsation. It can output 2 times flow of GBS series at same given pressure, thus suitable for gas compression and gas delivery.

GBH Series Gas Compressor Pump

GBH series is equipped with two air driving pistons based on GBD series with benefit of larger output flow. And it has 1.6 times flow rate of GBD series under the same conditions.

GBT Series Gas Recovery Pump

GBT series is two-stage high pressure gas pump that can effectively suction extremely low pressure gas and then pressurize it. Therefore, it is suitable for gas recovery and gas transfer from tank to tank.

GBX Series Gas Pressure Booster
